FAQ about shipping parcels

 

Do I have to register?

No, you do not have to register. But registering does give a number of benefits. For instance you do not have to complete the sender information for every parcel shipment. In addition you can use an address book and have an overview of all your shipments. Register here.

 

How much does it cost to ship a parcel through a DPD Pickup parcelshop?

The shipping prices depends on the destination. A price list can be found here

 

Where can I ship my parcel to?

Via the DPD Pickup parcelshops you can ship your parcels to addresses in Belgium and Europe. A full overview of destinations you can find here. It is not possible to ship parcels to a PO Box or an address on an Island (only UK and Ireland).

 

Can I ship a parcel to another Pickup parcelshop?

Yes, it is possible to ship a parcel from a Pickup parcelshop to another. The recipient will be informed when his parcel is ready to be collected.

 

How does the recipient know that his parcel is ready for pick up in a Pickup parcelshop?

When you ship a parcel to a Pickup parcelshop we will inform your recipient by email or text message when the parcel is ready to be collected. The parcel will be held in a Pickup parcelshop for 8 calendar days.

 

What do I have to enter as zip code for parcels to Ireland?

If you want to send a parcel to Ireland we ask you to enter "1" as a zip code for Dublin and "2" for the other cities.

 

Can I ship a parcel to a PO Box?

No, you cannot ship a parcel to PO Box addresses.

 

Is it possible to ship a parcel to an island?

No, that is not possible. The United Kingdom and Ireland are an exception, we do deliver there.

 

How long is a DPD parcel label valid?

Once you print a label, you must use it within 10 calendar days.

 

How can I pay for the DPD parcel label?

You pay for the parcel label online via debit card.

 

How big and heavy can a parcel be?

A parcel must not exceed 20 kg in weight. It cannot be bigger than 100 (L) x 50 (W) x 50 (H) (in cm).

 

Where can I find a DPD Pickup parcelshop?

Is my parcel insured?

Your parcel is insured against loss and damage according to the CMR-conditions.

 

Will I receive a proof of shipment?

You will receive the shipping instructions with the parcel label. This also states the number of parcels and the parcel numbers in your shipment. This document is signed by the DPD Pickup parcelshop. It is also your proof of shipment.

 

Does DPD use track and trace?

Yes, you can track your parcel online with the parcel number via track and trace at www.dpd.be.

 

How do I know when a parcel has been delivered?

DPD uses track and trace. You can always track your parcel at www.dpd.be using the parcel number. You can see whether the parcel has been delivered in the parcel delivery history.

 

What happens if the parcel cannot be delivered?

Has the recipient refused the parcel? Or is it not possible to deliver the parcel for another reason? Then we will return the parcel to you. We will not charge any additional fees for this but you will not be refunded the shipping costs.

 

What requirements are there for the packaging?

Ensure that the parcel is packed securely and is sealed correctly with tape. The packaging must be free from tears and must not leak. Also ensure that the contents of the parcel cannot move about.

 

What is Predict? How is the private consignee informed?

DPD will inform the private consignee in advance about the day on which the parcel is scheduled for delivery. If the day in question is not convenient, the consignee can change the day anywhere up to one hour prior to delivery. All the consignee has to do is follow the link in the notification (SMS or email) sent by DPD in order to change the delivery date. The consignee can have the date and address of delivery changed and

  • collect the parcel from their nearest Pickup parcel shop,
  • have it delivered on a different day,
  • have it delivered to a different address, or
  • have it deposited at a safe location.
On the day of delivery itself, the consignee will be informed by email or SMS of the one-hour time window in which the parcel will arrive.

 

What happens if the consignee can’t be located?

If the consignee can't be located, the driver leaves a notification card in the consignee's letter box after the first delivery attempt. The driver will drop off the parcel at a Pickup parcel shop where it will be stored for 7 working days. After that, the parcel will go back to the hub where it finally will be returned to sender.
